Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cain Velasquez is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cain Velasquez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Velasquez does no damage.
Velasquez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Kerr drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Velasquez working a defensive guard but Kerr manages to pass into side control anyway.

Kerr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kerr wants to control but Velasquez is keeping him busy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kerr shoots in and bounces Velasquez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Velasquez pulls Kerr in close to prevent any damage.

Kerr drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kerr jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Velasquez in particular looking to stall.
Kerr pushes Velasquez off looking to stand but Velasquez dives back in and keeps control.
Velasquez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Kerr tries to kick Velasquez off but Velasquez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Kerr is breathing heavily.
Velasquez is just content to waste time from the top position. Kerr takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Kerr will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Cain Velasquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kerr closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Velasquez did well to prevent Kerr getting side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Kerr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Velasquez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kerr is working away from the top position though.

Velasquez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Kerr kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kerr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
