Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrei Andreev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Braulio Tomaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Braulio Tomaz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andrei Andreev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Braulio Tomaz! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tomaz has Andreev up against the cage in a clinch.
Tomaz tries to land a knee to the head but Andreev blocks with his arms.
Andreev wants a takedown.
Tomaz jumps into guard, dragging Andreev to the mat.
Tomaz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Andreev scoring with punches to the head and body. Tomaz utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tomaz keeping full guard, as Andreev tries to pass. Tomaz controls Andreev momentarily but Andreev frees himself. That's one minute gone in the round. Andreev drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Andreev jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Tomaz looking for a sweep. Not yet Tomaz, not yet. Andreev in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tomaz changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Andreev tries to avoid it but Tomaz manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Andreev to the ground. Andreev escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Tomaz throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Tomaz throws a series of punches but Andreev moves out of range. Andreev tries for a takedown but Tomaz circles away easily and Tomaz counters with a single leg into guard. Andreev didn't expect that. Andreev is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tomaz postures up in Andreev's guard and throws a big left but Andreev blocks it. Tomaz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Andreev looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Andreev looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Andreev! Tomaz is trying to get back to half guard. Andreev tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. You can see the frustration on Tomaz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tomaz manages to work his way to half guard, despite Andreev's best efforts. Tomaz trying to control but Andreev postures up.
Andreev will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Tomaz is trying to stand back up but Andreev is controlling him
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Andreev seems to be looking for submissions.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Tomaz looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Tomaz looks to land a body kick but Andreev moved away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tomaz scoring well with a low kick there.
Tomaz has his takedown stuffed and Andreev counters with a single leg into guard. Tomaz didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Braulio Tomaz will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Andreev closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Andreev lands in his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tomaz is looking for a triangle but Andreev pushes his legs off easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Andreev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Andreev has gone for a leg lock! Tomaz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Andreev's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tomaz tries to stand but Andreev is controlling from the bottom. Tomaz landing some decent shots from guard. Tomaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Tomaz pushing down on Andreev's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Tomaz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Andreev knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Andreev is looking to improve his position.
Andreev is refusing to be controlled, as Tomaz sits in half guard. Tomaz thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Tomaz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Andreev defending well though. Tomaz is trying to work for a kimura but Andreev is defending well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Tomaz lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tomaz throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Andreev gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Tomaz counters with an outside leg kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Tomaz. Tomaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Tomaz working for a submission but Andreev is keeping him at bay. Tomaz looking to secure an arm triangle but Andreev defends it well.

This isn't 1993 though, so Andreev shrugs it off. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Tomaz looking to finish Andreev with some ground and pound. This is bad for Andreev! Braulio Tomaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Tomaz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Tomaz showed some decent athleticism there. Ground and pound from Tomaz. Andreev blocking the ground and pound attempt from Tomaz. Andreev is not content to let Tomaz control the position. Tomaz seems to be working for a kimura but Andreev defends the submission attempt. Tomaz trying to work for an americana but Andreev has managed to regain full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tomaz looking to pass the guard. Andreev keeping moving, preventing Tomaz from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tomaz drops back looking for a leg! Andreev is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Andreev manages to kick Tomaz off! Tomaz jumps back into Andreev's guard. Tomaz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Andreev is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tomaz throws a quick inside leg kick. Tomaz fails with the takedown. Andreev misses with a takedown and Tomaz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Tomaz is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Andreev is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Andreev has escaped and now he's on top!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tomaz tries to land a sweep but no joy. Braulio Tomaz has got the better of the ground game so far. Tomaz is trying to keep Andreev in close.
Tomaz throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Tomaz wants to sweep but no luck. Tomaz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Andreev doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Andreev manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Andreev tries to free his leg and advance position but Tomaz is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Andreev throwing strikes but missing. Andreev wants to control from the top but Tomaz keeps moving. Braulio Tomaz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Tomaz shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Andreev's guard. Tomaz wants to control from the top but Andreev keeps moving. Andrei Andreev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
And that's the end of the fight! Braulio Tomaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Tomaz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
