Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shane Lavelle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Uragan POTAPOV (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shane Lavelle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Uragan POTAPOV!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavelle decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
POTAPOV moves into full guard.
Lavelle trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
POTAPOV is trying to control the position from the bottom.
POTAPOV working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lavelle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lavelle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
POTAPOV pulls Lavelle in close to prevent any damage.
POTAPOV wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lavelle shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
POTAPOV keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
POTAPOV tries to hold on but Lavelle pushes him away.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
POTAPOV might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lavelle kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

POTAPOV bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

POTAPOV wants to get up but he can't break Lavelle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lavelle wants to sweep but no luck.

Lavelle manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. POTAPOV manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lavelle cracks POTAPOV with a solid left hand.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lavelle connects with a nice short shot to POTAPOV's temple.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
POTAPOV tries to close the distance and clinch but Lavelle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lavelle closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lavelle shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lavelle was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Lavelle is going oldschool here, as he tries to force POTAPOV to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so POTAPOV shrugs it off.
POTAPOV really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Lavelle lands a big shot there that rocks POTAPOV but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

POTAPOV is squirming around, avoiding Lavelle's attempts to control the action.

Lavelle cracks POTAPOV with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lavelle tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
POTAPOV is desperately trying to improve his position but Lavelle has a good base and remains in mount.

Shane Lavelle overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lavelle lands a nice shot to the head.
Lavelle postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked POTAPOV badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Lavelle around the waist but Lavelle pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Lavelle is the winner by TKO! Lavelle jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
