Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ryan Messer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ash Junior!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Messer tries to keep at a distance but Junior has taken the fight into the clinch.
Messer is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Junior pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Messer gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Messer breaks from the clinch.
Messer throws a front kick aimed at Junior's knee but Junior avoids it well.
Junior slaps away a takedown attempt from Messer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Junior wants to clinch but Messer slips to the side
and Messer counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Junior is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Junior tries to keep at a distance but Messer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Junior tries to break the clinch but Messer is controlling the position.
Messer is trying to drag Junior to the mat but Junior just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Messer jumps into guard, dragging Junior to the mat.
Messer wants to sweep but no luck.
Junior stands up out of Messer's guard for a moment - Messer manages to land a nice upkick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Messer has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Messer really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Messer keeping moving, preventing Junior from controlling successfully.
Junior stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Messer throws up his legs and catches Junior in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Junior tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Messer! That came out of nowhere!
