PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Dayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pawel Woljecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dayne comes to the cage accompanied by Getting Away With Murder - Papa Roach (Edit). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Dayne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pawel Woljecki!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dayne misses with a takedown attempt - Woljecki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Dayne shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Woljecki pinned against the cage. Woljecki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dayne dives in and grabs Woljecki's left leg, looking for a takedown. Woljecki pushes down on Dayne's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Dayne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Woljecki tries to score with a low kick but Dayne moves his leg out of the way.

Dayne wants to control but Woljecki passes easily into half guard.
Woljecki trying to control from Dayne's half guard. Dayne has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Woljecki is looking to stand up but Dayne won't let him.

Dayne wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dayne doesn't manage to clinch there - Woljecki circles away.
Woljecki swings for the body but Dayne moves out of range.

Dayne misses with a wild body shot.
Dayne tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Woljecki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Woljecki get's back to his feet.

Woljecki closes the distance and clinches.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Woljecki gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Dayne is not content to let Woljecki control the position.

Woljecki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dayne is trying to stand back up but Woljecki is controlling him

Dayne regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dayne looking to control.
Dayne can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Woljecki controls the pace.
Woljecki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dayne trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Woljecki's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Woljecki trying to control but Dayne is working from the bottom.

Dayne pushes Woljecki off and gets back to his feet.
Dayne tries for a takedown but Woljecki circles away easily

and Woljecki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Dayne!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pawel Woljecki dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Dayne tries to keep at a distance but Woljecki has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dayne tries to pull guard but Woljecki holds him up against the cage and eventually Dayne drops back down to his feet.
Woljecki is looking to break free of the clinch but Dayne has double underhooks.

Woljecki pulls guard effortlessly.
Woljecki really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dayne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Woljecki looking to control.
Dayne wants to control from the top but Woljecki keeps moving.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Woljecki holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dayne stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woljecki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Woljecki moves into the clinch successfully.

Woljecki lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Dayne is trying to control but can't.
Woljecki wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Dayne uses the opportunity to regain full guard.

Dayne wants to hit a switch here but Woljecki passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Dayne there!
Dayne is working to get back to half guard.
Woljecki looking to finish Dayne with some ground and pound. This is bad for Dayne!
Woljecki breaks from Dayne's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Woljecki postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dayne looks a forlorn figure.


It looks like Jason Dayne has been cut.
Dayne is looking to get to half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dayne throwing hammer fists to the chest of Woljecki. What's that going to do exactly?
Woljecki trying to control but Dayne is having none of it.
Dayne tries to hold on but Woljecki postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dayne has given up his back here.
Woljecki doesn't have the hooks in and Dayne manages to turn into his guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Woljecki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Woljecki is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Dayne is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Woljecki gets to his feet - Dayne follows without any prompting.

Woljecki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pawel Woljecki showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Jason Dayne's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Woljecki shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Woljecki is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Dayne reverses the position - he's now on top in Woljecki's guard.

Dayne decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Woljecki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Woljecki goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Dayne has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Woljecki but great work by Dayne.
Woljecki is trying to control Dayne's posture but Dayne avoids it.

Woljecki trying his best to control but Dayne has mounted him.
Dayne with a couple of short strikes.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Woljecki is trying desperately to improve position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dayne pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Woljecki holds on to Dayne around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.
Dayne tries to control but Woljecki wriggling away.
Dayne thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Woljecki can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dayne looking to control but Woljecki is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Dayne avoids the attempt from Woljecki to control.
Woljecki sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dayne is looking for a kimura but Woljecki is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dayne to get the leverage.
Woljecki pushes Dayne off looking to stand but Dayne dives back in and keeps control.
Woljecki is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Dayne jumps into side control!

Woljecki won't allow Dayne to pass to mount.
Pawel Woljecki has got the better of the ground game so far.
Woljecki throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Woljecki is trying to control but can't.
Jason Dayne has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pawel Woljecki is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Woljecki is looking for a sweep. Dayne is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Well Woljecki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
