Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Lingad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicholas Lizarraga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lizarraga comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rocky Theme kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Lingad! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nicholas Lizarraga! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lingad closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lingad lands in his opponent's guard. Lizarraga trying to control the position.
Lingad trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Lizarraga is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Lingad is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lizarraga keeping full guard, as Lingad tries to pass. Lingad trying to control but Lizarraga is working from the bottom. Lingad works a leg free and moves into half guard. Lingad is trying to work for a kimura but Lizarraga is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lingad is working for a kimura but Lizarraga is defending it quite comfortably.
Lizarraga has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lingad is working away from the top position though. Lingad passes to side control. Lizarraga tries to bench press Lingad off him but Lingad keeps the position. Lingad lands a nice forearm strike. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lingad tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Lingad is breathing heavily. Lingad tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lingad has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lingad is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lizarraga has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lingad sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Lizarraga is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Lizarraga tries to buck Lingad off but Lingad is having none of it. Lizarraga is trying to control Lingad's posture but Lingad avoids it. Lingad tries to move to mount but Lizarraga blocks the move with his legs. Lingad tries to get to his feet but Lizarraga is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Lingad in his guard. Lizarraga is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lingad slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Check out the look on Lingad's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Lingad advances nicely into full mount. Lingad goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lizarraga turns into him and now he's in Lingad's guard.
Lingad looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lingad manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lizarraga manages to get himself to full guard.
Lingad passes Lizarraga's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Lingad is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lizarraga is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lingad tries to pass to full mount but Lizarraga defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lizarraga tries to get to full guard but Lingad has control of the leg. Lingad is looking for a kimura here.
Lizarraga is defending against the submission attempts here by Lingad.
Lizarraga makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lizarraga. Lingad stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lizarraga swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lingad has gone for a leg lock! Lizarraga slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lingad's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Lingad dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lizarraga with a lazy takedown attempt and Lingad counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lizarraga! Lizarraga has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Lingad looking for the RNC. This has been an exciting period of action! Lizarraga is trying to defend against the choke here but Lingad has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Lingad Tightens the hold and Lizarraga taps out furiously! Lingad displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jon Lingad!
