Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinhjo Babalu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by Muse - Knights of Cydonia. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Sinhjo Babalu! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Babalu's waist but Babalu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Thomas off to one side. Thomas doesn't manage to clinch there - Babalu circles away.
Thomas keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Babalu. Thomas moves out of range of the strikes. Thomas wants to clinch. Babalu moves into the clinch. Thomas blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Babalu has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thomas is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Thomas tries for a takedown but Babalu manages to get underhooks.
Babalu lands an elbow that stopped Thomas in his tracks for a moment. Babalu misses with a body punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Babalu has a couple of punches blocked by Thomas.

That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Babalu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Babalu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Thomas working for a triangle but Babalu defends it easily.
Babalu landing some decent shots from guard. Thomas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Babalu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Babalu passes Thomas's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Babalu perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Thomas is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Babalu's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Babalu's back! Thomas doesn't have the hooks in and Babalu manages to turn into his guard.
Babalu wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving. Babalu scoring with punches to the head and body. Babalu avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Thomas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Babalu scoring with punches to the head and body. Babalu controlling from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Babalu lands a couple of digs. Babalu trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom. Babalu has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Thomas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Babalu slips nicely into half guard. Babalu working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Thomas is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Babalu pulls his head out easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Babalu looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Babalu drops an elbow to the side of Thomas's head. Thomas is not content to let Babalu control the position. Thomas on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Babalu is nestled in close to Thomas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Babalu drops an elbow to the side of Thomas's head. Babalu is pressing down on Thomas's thigh, looking to free his foot. Thomas is holding on for now. Babalu keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Thomas actively working from the bottom here. Thomas trying to control but Babalu postures up.

Sinhjo Babalu dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Babalu circles away from the clinch attempt letting Babalu counter with a right hand. Thomas tries to clinch but Babalu moves away and Babalu counters with a shoot takedown. Thomas fights it but they end up in guard. Babalu thows a big elbow that misses. Babalu chips away with some ground and pound. Babalu avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Babalu is trying to control the action in half guard but Thomas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Babalu content to control rather than advance. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Babalu connects with a nice short shot to Thomas's temple. Thomas missing with punches from the bottom.
Thomas looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Babalu wants to control but Thomas is keeping him busy. Babalu content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Babalu missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Thomas wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Thomas with a poor takedown enabling Babalu to counter with a crisp jab. Babalu throws a front kick that sends Thomas stumbling back into the cage. Babalu bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Babalu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Thomas manages to avoid it. Thomas takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Babalu lands a nice looking kick to the body. Thomas takes a step back to recover. Babalu throws a sloppy head kick and Thomas moves out of range easily. Babalu misses with a head kick.

Babalu is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Babalu. Babalu lands an overhand right. Babalu catches Thomas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Babalu tries a head kick but it misses.
Thomas throws a hook but Babalu avoids it easily. Thomas takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Thomas tries to clinch but Babalu moves away and Babalu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Babalu staying out of range there. Babalu lands a glancing blow to the side of Thomas's head. Thomas is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Thomas throws a looping overhand right but Babalu ducks down to avoid it. Babalu lands a head kick!
Thomas is rocked! Babalu scores with a leg kick.
Thomas wants to clinch but Babalu slips to the side and Babalu counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thomas looks to land a combination but Babalu avoids it well. Babalu connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Oh Thomas is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Sinhjo Babalu seems to be getting the better of the standup. Babalu throws a head kick but Thomas moves out of range.
Thomas seems to have got his legs back now. Thomas tries to clinch but fails miserably and Babalu counters with a straight right hand. Babalu dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Thomas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Babalu moves into full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Babalu holds on and takes a little breather. Thomas postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Thomas prevents Babalu from getting back to his feet. Babalu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sinhjo Babalu showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Thomas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Thomas gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Babalu to score an easy takedown into full guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Babalu pushes down on Thomas's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babalu is looking to stall here but Thomas recovers full guard. Babalu wants to control from the top but Thomas keeps moving. Babalu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Thomas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Babalu has managed to get both his arms back between Thomas's legs - danger averted. Thomas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Thomas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Babalu doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Babalu manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Babalu looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Babalu trying to control the position from guard on top but Thomas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thomas can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Babalu controls the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Sinhjo Babalu. Babalu circles away from the clinch attempt and Babalu counters by moving into the clinch. Thomas blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Thomas jumps guard but Babalu stands there with Thomas around his waist. Thomas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Thomas wants to clinch but Babalu slips to the side and Babalu counters with a body kick. Babalu lands a head kick. Thomas smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Thomas tries to clinch up and Babalu counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Thomas with a lazy takedown attempt and Babalu counters with a body kick. Babalu lands a nice hook to Thomas's body. Thomas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Babalu looks to land a right hand but Thomas moved out of range. Thomas tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Babalu cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Ryan Thomas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A slapping body kick lands there for Babalu. Babalu connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Babalu looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Sinhjo Babalu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Thomas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Babalu scores with a jab. Babalu catches Thomas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Thomas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Babalu counters with a nice body kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Thomas. That's going to take a lot out of him. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Babalu pulls out of a head kick attempt.

And that's the end of the fight! Sinhjo Babalu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Babalu has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
