The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saletra closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Saletra lands in his opponent's guard.

Saletra postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kill is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Saletra, into his guard.

Kill shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Saletra but Saletra pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Saletra shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kill's guard.
Jason Kill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Saletra drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kill looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kill looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kill!
