Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hercule Poirot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and recom uy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poirot's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Poirot Theme. uy has chosen bleed it out by linkin park as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
uy on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Poirot gets the takedown into side control.
Poirot tries to advance to mount but uy denies him.

Poirot is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. uy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
uy is not content to let Poirot control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Poirot working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
uy tries to buck Poirot off but Poirot is having none of it.

uy turns into Poirot and is now in his guard.
Poirot has uy pulled in close to control his posture.

Poirot keeping moving, preventing uy from controlling successfully.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hercule Poirot dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Poirot misses with a head kick.
Poirot cracks the inside of uy's front leg.
Hercule Poirot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A nice inside leg kick there by Poirot. That's going to slow uy down.
Poirot throws a head kick but uy moves out of range.
Poirot pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Poirot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Poirot misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Poirot throws a push kick but uy slaps the foot to one side.
Poirot stuffs the takedown.

Poirot feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

uy looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Poirot stands and throws uy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
uy is breathing heavily.
uy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Poirot wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Poirot wants to lay and pray for a moment but uy keeps working.
uy manages to work his way to half guard, despite Poirot's best efforts.
Poirot takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Poirot moves nicely into side control.
uy is looking for a sweep.

Poirot is looking to take a break and control but uy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hercule Poirot.
Poirot throws a leg kick but uy checks it.
uy gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Poirot counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Poirot pushes down on uy's leg and manages to get into half guard.
uy makes his way to full guard. A much better position for uy.

Poirot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. uy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

uy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hercule Poirot overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Poirot sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed uy's guard.

Poirot wants to work for an arm triangle but uy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Poirot looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
uy gets full guard.
uy is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Poirot wants to control from the top but uy keeps moving.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

uy is staying active underneath Poirot, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Poirot uses his free foot to push down on uy's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for uy.
Poirot tries to control but uy wriggling away.
uy is trying to reverse the position but instead Poirot has taken his back - oops!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

uy shoots and misses

and Poirot counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in uy's guard now.

uy looking for a guillotine here but Poirot defends easily.
Poirot wants to pass the guard but uy is keeping the position.

uy pushes Poirot away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Poirot gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Poirot passes to full mount! That's big trouble for uy!

Poirot takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

uy is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Poirot locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! uy is forced to tap!
