Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladamir Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Madsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Vladamir Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Josh Madsen!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear fails in his attempt to clinch.

Bear clinches up with Madsen and pushes him back against the cage.
Madsen is trying to drag Bear to the mat but Bear just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Bear pulls Madsen into guard.
Bear looking for a sweep. Not yet Bear, not yet.
Bear on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bear tries to get out of the position.

Madsen gets to his feet - Bear follows without any prompting.
Madsen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Bear takes the fight into the clinch.
Bear misses with a knee strike.
Bear gets underhooks to prevent Madsen's takedown attempt.
Madsen looking to slow down the pace here.
Bear drops down looking for an ankle pick but Madsen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bear fails with the takedown.

Bear shoots in looking for a takedown. Madsen tries to sprawl out of it but Bear keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Madsen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladamir Bear. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bear shoots in but Madsen avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Madsen has Bear up against the cage in a clinch.
Bear goes for a takedown in the clinch but Madsen prevents it.
Madsen has Bear pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bear manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Bear tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Madsen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bear gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Bear has picked Madsen up - he's going for a ride! Bear dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Madsen kicks off Bear and gets to his feet.
Bear moves in looking to clinch but Madsen pushes him off.
Bear throws the kick towards the body but Madsen avoids it.
Nice takedown defense from Madsen. No joy for Bear on that attempt.
Bear is breathing heavily.

Bear pushes Madsen up against the cage in a clinch.

Madsen tries for a takedown. No joy.

Madsen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Madsen shoots in for a takedown but Bear shows good takedown defense.
Nice straight punches there by Bear. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bear.
Madsen shoots and misses
and Bear counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bear wants to clinch up but Madsen keeps it at a distance.

Madsen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bear looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bear tries to bench press Madsen off him but Madsen keeps the position.
Bear wants to control but Madsen postures up.
Bear tries to buck Madsen off but Madsen is having none of it.
Madsen trying to control the action but Bear is working from the bottom.

Madsen is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bear is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Madsen taking a break here but Bear is having none of it and regains half guard.

Bear looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bear trying to hold on to Madsen's head to control him but Madsen postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Bear changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Madsen tries to avoid it but Bear manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Madsen to the ground. Madsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Madsen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Madsen tries to clinch but Bear moves out of range.
Madsen fails with the takedown
and Bear counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladamir Bear dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Madsen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bear clinches up with Madsen and pushes him back against the cage.
Bear is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Madsen wants a takedown.
Bear tries to break the clinch but Madsen is controlling the position.
Bear lands a right hand that snaps the head of Madsen backwards.

Madsen breaks the clinch.
Bear lands with a straight right. Madsen didn't see that one coming.


It looks like Josh Madsen has been cut.
Bear throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

and Madsen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bear's guard.

Bear keeping moving, preventing Madsen from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Bear has Madsen up against the cage in a clinch.
Bear lands with a short shot to the head.
Bear letting Madsen take a breather here.
Bear just leaning against Madsen, taking a breather.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bear creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Bear turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Madsen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Bear asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Bear just content to control the position.
Madsen is trying to control Bear's posture but Bear avoids it.
Bear wants to stand but Madsen has his arm trapped.
Madsen is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Bear is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vladamir Bear will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Josh Madsen's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


No luck with that takedown attempt from Madsen.

and Bear counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bear is looking to clinch but Madsen is avoiding it.

Madsen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bear keeps working.

Madsen is pressing down on Bear's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bear is holding on for now.
Bear is not content to let Madsen control the position.

Bear makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bear.
Bear seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Madsen slips nicely into half guard.
Bear is trying to stand back up but Madsen is controlling him

Bear has his foot on Madsen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Madsen works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bear walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Madsen checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Madsen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bear wants to improve his position but instead Madsen has moved into half guard.
Madsen is thwarting Bear's attempts to control the position.
Josh Madsen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vladamir Bear is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
