Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Beaver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Beaver comes to the cage accompanied by Sound of Silence. Karl Beaver looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Beaver! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddell smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Beaver tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Liddell stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Beaver is rocked!
It looks like Karl Beaver has been cut. Beaver tries to clinch up. Oh Beaver is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Beaver wants to clinch up but Liddell keeps it at a distance. Beaver seems to have got his legs back now. Beaver throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Liddell's waist but Liddell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Beaver off to one side. Liddell throws a series of punches but Beaver avoids them all with ease. Beaver could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. A head kick misses from Beaver. Liddell throws a low kick, looking for Beaver's leg but Beaver calmly moves out of range. Beaver forces Liddell back against the cage and clinches. Liddell drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Beaver has had enough of the clinch but Liddell keeps him there for the moment. Beaver looking to slow down the pace here. Liddell lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Beaver backwards. The is referee keeping an eye on Beaver - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Beaver is breathing heavily. Liddell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Liddell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Beaver is one step ahead there. Liddell has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Beaver has passed into side control.
Liddell manages to work his way to half guard, despite Beaver's best efforts. Liddell slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Liddell wants to sweep but no luck. Beaver looking to pass the guard. Liddell trying to control the position.
Liddell throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Liddell looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Beaver might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Liddell keeping moving, preventing Beaver from controlling successfully. Liddell wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Liddell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Beaver's guard. Liddell forces his way into half guard. Beaver is trying to stand.
Liddell missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Liddell is keen to just control but Beaver is a slippery customer. Liddell is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Liddell is pressing down on Beaver's thigh, looking to free his foot. Beaver is holding on for now. Beaver is trying to stand back up but Liddell is controlling him
Beaver moves into full guard.
Liddell postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Liddell trying to control the position from guard on top but Beaver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddell makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Liddell trying to control the position from guard on top but Beaver is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Beaver keeping busy on the bottom but Liddell has passed one foot through into half guard.
Liddell content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Liddell lands with a punch from half guard. Liddell passes to side control. Liddell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Beaver has escaped the position, nice work there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddell working the ground and pound from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beaver is trying to control Liddell's posture but Liddell avoids it. Beaver tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Beaver is looking for a sweep. Beaver can't do much from the bottom here. Beaver is trying to improve his position. Liddell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beaver keeps working.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Beaver fails with a takedown attempt. Beaver misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chuck Liddell dominated that round. The cut man is working on Karl Beaver's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Liddell misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Liddell shoots for a takedown but Beaver saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Beaver with a lazy takedown attempt and Liddell counters with a two punch combo. Liddell lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Beaver sprawling to the canvas. Liddell follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Beaver hang on? Liddell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Beaver is trying to maintain the position but Liddell is very close to passing his half guard. Still in half guard, Liddell seems content to control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Liddell lands a nice short elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beaver looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Liddell working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Nice strikes from Liddell there. Liddell is trying to control the action in half guard but Beaver is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Liddell working the head and body with strikes. Liddell is figuring out what he wants to do next. Liddell scoring with strikes to the body and head. Liddell drops an elbow to the side of Beaver's head. Liddell works his way into full mount! Liddell cracks Beaver with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Beaver is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beaver in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Liddell connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Liddell with good strikes from the mount here!
