Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Dominguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian McGilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dominguez comes to the cage accompanied by El Mariachi. Brian McGilla is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cesar Dominguez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brian McGilla! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dominguez loads up on a big right hand but McGilla slips the punch. Dominguez throws the kick towards the body but McGilla avoids it. Cesar Dominguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dominguez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGilla. McGilla misses with a takedown attempt - Dominguez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A momentary lapse in concentration from McGilla enables Dominguez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McGilla manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Dominguez throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Dominguez wants to control from the top but McGilla keeps moving. Dominguez is really struggling to control McGilla but he's trying to hold on to the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McGilla can do anything to dispel that myth. Dominguez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McGilla is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. McGilla is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cesar Dominguez. McGilla with a lazy takedown attempt and Dominguez counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Cesar Dominguez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian McGilla. Dominguez misses with a few strikes there.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGilla throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dominguez sees it coming and avoids it easily. Dominguez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Dominguez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dominguez scores with a kick to the midsection. McGilla looks gassed! Dominguez lands a nice leg kick that just misses McGilla's sensitive parts. Dominguez throws a push kick but McGilla slaps the foot to one side. Dominguez tries to clinch but McGilla is having none of it. Dominguez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dominguez scores with a jab to the jaw. McGilla avoids the head kick by Dominguez.
McGilla sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. McGilla has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Dominguez. Dominguez just misses with a punch to the body.
Dominguez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A nice leg kick lands there from Dominguez. McGilla shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. A nice inside leg kick there by Dominguez. That's going to slow McGilla down. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dominguez takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dominguez feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to McGilla's calf. McGilla staying out of range there. Dominguez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Dominguez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Dominguez wants to control from the top but McGilla keeps moving. Dominguez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Dominguez drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Dominguez as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! McGilla screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Dominguez! Nice submission victory there!
