Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dong Quong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rani Yahya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rani Yahya is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rani Yahya!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yahya tries to clinch up but Quong circles away and keeps his distance.

Yahya feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Yahya stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Quong swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Quong wants to control the position but Yahya says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Yahya is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Yahya seems to be working for a kimura but Quong defends the submission attempt.
Yahya wants to control but Quong is keeping him busy.
Quong wants to get back to his feet.

The fighters are battling for position here. Quong manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Quong seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Quong wants to sweep but no luck.
Quong wants to get back to his feet but Yahya is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Quong is pressing down on Yahya's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Quong will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Yahya wants to control from the top but Quong keeps moving.

Yahya thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Yahya drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Quong dives on top into guard.

Yahya takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Quong really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Quong throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

and Quong counters with a nice low kick that buckles Yahya's knee momentarily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Quong is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Quong is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Quong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yahya on the ground.
Yahya can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Quong is looking to escape.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Yahya jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Quong is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Quong and Yahya has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Yahya is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Quong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Quong pushes Yahya away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Yahya gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Yahya tries to score a power double leg takedown but Quong sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yahya somewhat.
