Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simone Fleury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simone Fleury!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Carter looking to throw knees to the head but Fleury is blocking nicely.
Fleury lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Fleury scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Fleury escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fleury fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Carter, pushing him back against the cage.
Carter misses with an elbow strike.
Fleury goes for a takedown attempt but Carter pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Carter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Carter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carter lands in his opponent's guard.
Carter trying to control but Fleury is working from the bottom.
Fleury thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Carter cracks Fleury with a solid left hand.
Carter controlling from the top position.

Fleury wants to stand up but Carter is controlling him.
Carter working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Fleury's head.
Fleury seems keen to control Carter's posture.
Carter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Fleury is looking to stand up but Carter isn't so interested in that idea.
Carter seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Carter postures up in Fleury's guard and throws a big left but Fleury blocks it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Fleury wants to get back to his feet but Carter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fleury throws a nice looking combination but Carter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Fleury looks gassed!
Carter throws a sloppy head kick and Fleury moves out of range easily.
Carter moves into the clinch.
Fleury escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carter shoots in but no luck this time.
Carter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fleury shoots in and drives through. Carter sprawls well.
Fleury wants to clinch
and Carter moves into the clinch.
Carter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fleury has him pressed against the cage.
Fleury turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Fleury manages to end up in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fleury tries to stand but Carter controls the position and pulls Fleury into his guard.
Carter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fleury wants to control but Carter is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Fleury is trying to stand.
Fleury is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Carter slips a nice elbow through Fleury's hands, connecting with Fleury's forehead.
Carter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Fleury is controlling Carter's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Fleury makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fleury.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Carter trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Fleury looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Let's hope that Fleury has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Fleury wants to get back to his feet but Carter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Carter working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Carter throws and elbow that misses. Fleury uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Carter's guard. Nice move by Fleury!

That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Fleury has Carter up against the cage in a clinch.
Carter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Fleury gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Fleury successfully pulls guard.
Fleury trying to keep a closed guard but Carter is proving a slippery customer.
Fleury is looking to stand up but Carter isn't so interested in that idea.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fleury wants to get back to his feet but Carter is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Carter has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Fleury is trying to maintain a safe position but Carter gets an underhook and turns Fleury into the cage.

Carter tries to pull guard but Fleury holds him up against the cage and eventually Carter drops back down to his feet.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Simone Fleury seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Carter throws a head kick but Fleury moves out of range.

Carter has picked Fleury up - he's going for a ride! Carter dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Fleury looks like he's trying to stand up.
Carter seems to be working for a kimura but Fleury defends the submission attempt.
Fleury has one foot on Carter's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Fleury throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Fleury lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Carter backwards.
Carter stalling in the clinch but Fleury improves position.

Fleury tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Carter just stands there and leans against the cage.

Carter is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fleury gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Fleury lands a right hand.
Carter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fleury has him pressed against the cage.

Fleury breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Carter shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Carter was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Carter blocks Fleury's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Carter is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Fleury has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Fleury!
Carter looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Fleury is defending well. Carter quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Fleury has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Carter celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
