Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dan King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nav Dhanju! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, William Peck and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dhanju swats away the attempt to clinch by King. King fails in his attempt to clinch. Dhanju has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dhanju escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Dhanju takes a swing at King's ribcage but misses. King tries to clinch and Dhanju counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Dhanju stops King from getting back to his feet.
King is not content to let Dhanju control the position. King is trying to stand back up but Dhanju is controlling him
Dhanju wants to control but King is keeping him busy. King wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dhanju is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. King is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dhanju tries to buck King off but King is having none of it. King is chipping away with strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. King trying to control the position but Dhanju is working away. Dhanju on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Dhanju is not content to let King control the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Dhanju tries to keep at a distance but King has taken the fight into the clinch. King landing some nice looking knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
