Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dominick Bowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neno Pires (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bowles's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, War Machine . Neno Pires has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pires gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bowles to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bowles pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pires is keeping the position for now.
Bowles trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bowles throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pires can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bowles wants to control from the top but Pires keeps moving.
Pires is trying to control the position but Bowles postures up.

Bowles trying to control but Pires is working from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bowles throws a right and a left that Pires avoids nicely.
Bowles looks for a takedown but Pires sprawls well.
Pires shoots in but Bowles avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bowles fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bowles slaps away a takedown attempt from Pires, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bowles tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pires sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bowles somewhat.

Pires shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Pires trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Pires takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Bowles can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pires cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Pires looking to control but Bowles is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Bowles is trying to stand.
Pires tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bowles tries to reverse the position but Pires maintains control.
Pires can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bowles is looking to escape.
Pires scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Bowles?

Pires really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bowles. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bowles is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Pires is pressing down on Bowles's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bowles is holding on for now.

Bowles is looking to advance position but Pires won't allow it.
Pires is refusing to be controlled, as Bowles sits in half guard.
Bowles is pressing down on Pires's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pires is holding on for now.

Bowles manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Bowles makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bowles.

Bowles has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Pires off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Pires is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Bowles can't fight it off and eventually Pires manages to take the fight to the floor. Bowles looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Bowles uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pires has a takedown stuffed.

Bowles looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pires keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Pires is staying active underneath Bowles, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Bowles wants to work for an arm triangle but Pires is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dominick Bowles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Neno Pires.
Pires shoots in for a takedown but Bowles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bowles bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bowles creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Pires sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Pires can't break the clinch.
Pires lands a shot to the body.
Pires jumps guard but Bowles stands there with Pires around his waist. Pires gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Pires gets underhooks to prevent Bowles's takedown attempt.
Bowles is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Bowles tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pires just stands there and leans against the cage.

Pires's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bowles shoots in and drives through. Pires sprawls well.

Pires shoots in and bounces Bowles off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Pires wanted to stand there but Bowles had control of the position.

Bowles kicks Pires off and gets to his feet.
Pires shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bowles defends it nicely.
Pires throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bowles's waist but Bowles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pires off to one side.
Bowles is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pires sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
