Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Jackson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Williams! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Jackson tries to clinch up. Williams stuffs the takedown. Jackson drives through with a takedown into guard. Williams looking for a guillotine here but Jackson defends easily.
Williams wants to get back to his feet but Jackson is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Jackson tries to stand but Williams is controlling from the bottom. Jackson advances position into side control! Jackson tries for a kimura but Williams is defending well. Jackson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Williams to his feet. Jackson misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. The fight moves into the clinch position. Williams successfully pulls guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson wants to pass the guard but Williams is keeping the position. Jackson makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Williams wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling him. Williams looks gassed! Jackson stands up and waves to Williams to follow him. Jackson tries to clinch but Williams moves out of range. Williams with a lazy takedown attempt and Jackson counters with a two punch combo. Jackson tries to clinch up but Williams circles away and keeps his distance. Jackson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Jackson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Williams, up you get! Williams gets the takedown into side control. Jackson is trying to improve his position. Jackson taking a bit of punishment here - Williams scoring with strikes. Jackson struggling a bit here. Jackson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jackson is working to get back to half guard.
Williams is working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson frees his head quite easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Williams in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
It looks like Paul Jackson has been cut. Williams lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Williams cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Jackson is rocked! Williams looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Oh Jackson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Williams wants to finish this one by submission but Jackson is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Williams. Williams in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Williams lands a big elbow.
Paul Jackson's cut is getting worse. Williams with a couple of short strikes. Williams has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Williams working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson is in no mood to give up. Jackson is in all sorts of trouble here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Williams putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Williams has isolated one of Jackson's arms. Jackson looking to fight him off but Williams twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
