Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gomer Pyle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Daley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pyle comes to the cage accompanied by The Marines' Hymn. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gomer Pyle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Daley!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donk. Pyle catches Daley right on the button with a cross.

Pyle clinches up against the cage.
Daley throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pyle blocks it with crossed arms.

Daley drops Pyle with a big knee straight up the middle! Pyle is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!


Pyle is rocked!


It looks like Gomer Pyle has been cut.
Pyle tries to clinch but Daley is having none of it.

Pyle tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Daley swivels and escapes.
Pyle misses with a hook.
Daley throws a low kick but Pyle avoids it.

Daley pushes Pyle up against the cage in a clinch.

Pyle is trying to maintain a safe position but Daley gets an underhook and turns Pyle into the cage.
Pyle tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Daley just stands there and leans against the cage.
Daley tries to land a knee to the head but Pyle blocks with his arms.
Daley using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Pyle has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Pyle jumps guard but Daley stands there with Pyle around his waist. Pyle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gomer Pyle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daley is trying to maintain a safe position but Pyle gets an underhook and turns Daley into the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Pyle is pushing Daley up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Pyle is trying to drag Daley to the mat but Daley just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Pyle works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Pyle has Daley pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Daley manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Pyle is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Pyle postures up in Daley's guard and throws a big left but Daley blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pyle accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pyle trying to control but Daley is working from the bottom.
Pyle passes Daley's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Pyle slips a nice elbow through Daley's hands, connecting with Daley's forehead.
Pyle is looking to take a break and control but Daley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pyle thows a huge punch but Daley dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Pyle stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Pyle digs a right hand underneath Daley's ribcage. Daley let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Pyle is trying to stall.

Pyle turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pyle manages to end up in side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pyle connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Daley some visible discomfort.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pyle throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Pyle working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Daley takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Pyle is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Daley knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pyle is trying to get an arm triangle but Daley is defending well.

Pyle is trying to ground and pound but Daley uses the momentary lack of control by Pyle to regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pyle is working for a kimura but Daley is defending it quite comfortably.
Pyle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Daley is refusing to be controlled, as Pyle sits in half guard.
Pyle slips a nice elbow through Daley's hands, connecting with Daley's forehead.
Daley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pyle. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Daley is not content to let Pyle control the position.
Pyle is just content to waste time from the top position. Daley takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Daley wants to clinch but Pyle slips to the side
and Daley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Daley tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Gomer Pyle has scored more points in the clinch so far.

Pyle has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Daley clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Daley is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Pyle off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
