Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Darren Lansdell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaoki Aomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Darren Lansdell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shaoki Aomi! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aomi misses with a few strikes there.
Aomi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Aomi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lansdell was covering up waiting for the punch and Aomi finishes the takedown easily into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aomi trying to control the position from guard on top but Lansdell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Aomi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lansdell escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aomi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Lansdell controls Aomi momentarily but Aomi frees himself. Aomi prevents Lansdell from getting back to his feet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Aomi accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lansdell looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Aomi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Lansdell pushes Aomi up against the cage in a clinch. Aomi works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Aomi wants to control from the top but Lansdell keeps moving. Lansdell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aomi on the ground. Aomi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Lansdell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Aomi is one step ahead there. Aomi postures up in Lansdell's guard and throws a big left but Lansdell blocks it. Aomi looks gassed! Lansdell doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Lansdell looking for a sweep. Not yet Lansdell, not yet. Aomi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Aomi won't allow Lansdell to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Lansdell circles away from the clinch attempt and Lansdell counters by moving into the clinch. Aomi leaning his opponent against the cage. Lansdell has clasped his hands together around Aomi's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Lansdell is chipping away with strikes.
Lansdell wants to control but Aomi is keeping him busy. Lansdell tries to stand but Aomi is controlling his head. Aomi is looking for a sweep. Lansdell working the head and body with strikes.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lansdell grinds an elbow into Aomi's temple. Lansdell wants to stand but Aomi is controlling his arm. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Aomi has eaten all the pies!
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lansdell fails with a takedown attempt. Lansdell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aomi but Aomi pushes him off and we're back to square one. Lansdell misses with a takedown and Aomi counters with a two punch combo. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Darren Lansdell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aomi closes the distance looking to clinch and Lansdell counters by clinching up. Lansdell prevents the takedown attempt.
Lansdell decides to pull guard. Lansdell keeping moving, preventing Aomi from controlling successfully. Lansdell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Aomi manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lansdell wants to control from the top but Aomi keeps moving. Aomi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lansdell defends well. Aomi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lansdell defends it easily. Aomi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lansdell will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Aomi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Shaoki Aomi will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Lansdell misses with a takedown attempt and Aomi counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lansdell won't be happy with that. Lansdell is not content to let Aomi control the position. Aomi looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Aomi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aomi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lansdell is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Aomi's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Lansdell is looking for a sweep. Aomi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Lansdell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lansdell tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aomi is trying to work for a kimura but Lansdell is defending well.
Aomi is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lansdell is just riding it out for now. Aomi eventually gives up the hold. Lansdell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aomi is working away from the top position though. Lansdell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Aomi prevents Lansdell from standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lansdell turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Aomi tries to clinch but Lansdell moves away and Lansdell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Aomi! Aomi tries to reverse the position but Lansdell maintains control. Lansdell wants to control the pace but Aomi is squirming around nicely. Aomi looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Will Lansdell go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Shaoki Aomi has got the better of the ground game so far. Aomi can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lansdell trying to control. Aomi is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Lansdell punishes Aomi with strikes from the back mount. Lansdell lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Aomi hold on?!
Lansdell lands a shot to the body. Lansdell is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Aomi. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Aomi is covering up but some of the strikes from Lansdell are getting through and doing damage.
Lansdell scores with punches to the body. Aomi is trying to break free.
Aomi breaks Lansdell's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Aomi advances to half guard. Aomi wants to control but Lansdell is keeping him busy. Aomi thows a huge punch but Lansdell dodges it nicely.
Aomi seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Lansdell is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Shaoki Aomi!
