The bell rings for round one and we are underway! O Leary throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Poluga sees it coming and avoids it easily. O Leary gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. O Leary with a knee to the head.
Poluga jumps guard but O Leary stands there with Poluga around his waist. Poluga gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

O Leary tries to clinch up but Poluga circles away and keeps his distance. Poluga darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poluga is just content to waste time from the top position. O Leary takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Poluga postures up in O Leary's guard and throws a big left but O Leary blocks it. Poluga throws a big right hand that misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Poluga trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Poluga trying to control the position from guard on top but O Leary is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Poluga not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. O Leary escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Poluga gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. O Leary can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Poluga controls the pace. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Poluga wants to control from the top but O Leary keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A lazy body kick from Poluga and O Leary counters with a head kick. That will keep Poluga thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Jab, jab by O Leary - just one landing. O Leary lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Poluga backwards. O Leary prevents the takedown attempt.
Poluga is trying to drag O Leary to the mat but O Leary just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. O Leary is pressed up against the cage. Poluga has hold of a leg and is looking to drag O Leary down to the mat. O Leary avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nice body punch from O Leary. Poluga closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. O Leary tries a head kick but it misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Poluga keeps the fight on the outside. O Leary bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Paddy O Leary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. O Leary looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. O Leary wants to clinch up but Poluga keeps it at a distance. Nice takedown defense from O Leary. No joy for Poluga on that attempt. O Leary throws a right hand that Poluga ducks under and follows up with a left that Poluga also avoids with ease. O Leary throws a combination. Poluga tries to block but a couple of punches get through. O Leary throws the left hand but Poluga avoids the punch easily. Poluga shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with O Leary but O Leary pushes him off and we're back to square one. Poluga on the wrong end of a nice hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poluga throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. O Leary tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Poluga is in O Leary's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. O Leary keeping moving, preventing Poluga from controlling successfully. Poluga throws a strike but O Leary rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. O Leary wants to control from the top but Poluga keeps moving. O Leary won't allow Poluga to sweep him here. O Leary thows a big elbow that misses. O Leary stands and steps away. Poluga gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Poluga drives through with a takedown into guard. Poluga looking to sit in guard and control but O Leary gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Elvis Poluga has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! O Leary's corner is telling him to maintain position. O Leary loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Poluga working a defensive guard here.

And that's the end of the fight! Paddy O Leary showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for O Leary, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
