Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joey Vera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bic Pencil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vera comes to the cage accompanied by Weightless by All Time Low. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joey Vera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bic Pencil!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pencil gets caught flat footed, as Vera shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Vera controlling from the top position.
Pencil looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Vera trying to control the position from guard on top but Pencil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pencil had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Vera is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pencil Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Vera's back instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vera wants to control his opponent's hands but Pencil gets his hands free.
Pencil is persistently looking for the submission but Vera is defending it well.

Pencil looking for the choke but no joy.
Pencil working for a choke but Vera is defending well.

Pencil doesn't have the hooks in and Vera manages to turn into his guard.
Vera slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Vera has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Vera has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pencil is proving hard to escape from.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pencil looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pencil is striking from the bottom but Vera uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Vera tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Pencil.

Still in half guard, Vera seems content to control.
Pencil won't allow Vera to pass to mount.

Pencil is looking to improve his position.
Vera seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Vera has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Vera controlling his opponent.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Joey Vera just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Vera shoots in but Pencil avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pencil misses with a takedown
and Vera counters with a low kick, right behind Pencil 's knee.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vera drives through with a takedown into guard.
Vera has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Pencil wants to sweep here but Vera controlling him for the moment.
Vera stays in close to Pencil's body and controls the position.
Pencil has his foot on Vera's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vera works his way back into a safe position though.

Pencil chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vera can pounce on him.
Vera misses with a body kick.
Vera shoots in and bounces Pencil off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Vera won't allow Pencil to sweep him here.
Vera stands up and waves to Pencil to follow him.
Vera tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pencil swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pencil dodges the punch combination from Vera.
Vera gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Pencil counters with a shoot takedown. Vera fights it but they end up in guard.

Pencil slips nicely into half guard.
Pencil prevents Vera from improving his position.
Vera is working hard here to advance position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pencil is pressing down on Vera's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vera is holding on for now.
Pencil is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Vera doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pencil.
Pencil is looking to pass Vera's guard but actually Vera recovers to full guard.
Pencil pushes down on Vera's leg and manages to get into half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vera has one foot on Pencil's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Pencil avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vera forces Pencil back against the cage and clinches.
Pencil tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A knee to the head by Vera.
Pencil tries to pull guard but Vera won't allow it.
Vera crunches a lovely knee into Pencil's ribcage.
Pencil successfully pulls guard.
Vera stands up and waves to Pencil to follow him.
Vera darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Pencil misses with a takedown
and Vera decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pencil's guard.
Joey Vera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bic Pencil.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vera has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Pencil to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Vera is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Pencil pulls down on the head and he's put Vera to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bic Pencil!
