The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casgione shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rock pinned against the cage. Rock gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Casgione shoots in but no luck this time.
Casgione tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rock fails to land the takedown.
Tommy Rock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rock gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Casgione circles away from the clinch attempt.

Casgione shoots in for a double leg but Rock sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Rock is pressed up against the cage. Casgione has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rock down to the mat. Rock avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Rock moves in looking to clinch but Casgione pushes him off.
Casgione looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Rock drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Casgione gets the underhooks and prevents it.

and Casgione counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rock thinking.
Rock pushes Casgione up against the cage in a clinch.
Rock tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Rock's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Rock throws a punch but it's blocked by Casgione.

Rock lands a takedown into guard.
Rock makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Casgione keeping full guard, as Rock tries to pass.
Rock distracts Casgione with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rock might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rock throwing strikes from guard but Casgione blocks nicely.
Rock thows a big elbow that misses.
Rock with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Casgione has momentary wrist control but Rock slips an elbow through the middle.

Rock makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rock is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Rock lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Casgione is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rock postures up.
Rock advances position into side control!

Rock tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Casgione manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rock tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Casgione wants to control but Rock is keeping him busy.
Casgione stalling away here and it's allowed Rock to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Rock lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Casgione!

It looks like Mike Casgione has been cut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
