Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ja Kan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fjalar Ollongren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ollongren has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fjalar Ollongren! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Valeri Chadov and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kan fails with the takedown. Ollongren misses with a hook. Ollongren throws a shot from downtown. Kan moves away and avoids it. Kan scores with a jab to the body. Ollongren looks gassed! Kan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Kan slips under a jab. Kan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ollongren swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ja Kan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kan defending well as Ollongren loads up on a big left hand. Ollongren fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kan moves in looking to clinch but Ollongren pushes him off. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ollongren. Kan shoots in for a takedown but Ollongren shows good takedown defense. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kan is defended easily by Ollongren. Kan fails with a takedown attempt. Kan doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ollongren counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ollongren not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kan keeping moving, preventing Ollongren from controlling successfully. Ollongren thows a big elbow that misses. Ollongren wants to control from the top but Kan keeps moving. Ollongren loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ollongren accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Kan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ollongren.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Kan is looking to clinch. Kan scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Ollongren shoots in for a takedown but Kan shows good takedown defense. Ollongren stuffs a takedown. Fjalar Ollongren showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Ollongren sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ollongren bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Ollongren working the ground and pound but Kan is defending the strikes. Ollongren moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

And that's the end of the fight! Fjalar Ollongren comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Ollongren has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
