PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Losefa Tuilagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Losefa Tuilagi told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Josh Guy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Losefa Tuilagi!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tuilagi pinned against the cage. Tuilagi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Guy motions for Tuilagi to come forward. Guy throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Guy jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Horrible takedown by Guy or perhaps it was just good defense by Tuilagi which made him look bad.
Guy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Guy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tuilagi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Guy counters with a single leg into guard. Tuilagi didn't expect that.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tuilagi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tuilagi has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Guy tries to stand but Tuilagi is controlling from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tuilagi wants to sweep here but Guy controlling him for the moment.
Tuilagi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Guy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tuilagi is proving hard to escape from.

Guy stands and steps away. Tuilagi gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Tuilagi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Guy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Tuilagi tries to clinch but Guy moves out of range.
Tuilagi throws a one two combo.


It looks like Josh Guy has been cut.
Guy is breathing heavily.
Tuilagi clinches but Guy breaks the clinch

and Guy counters with a single leg into guard. Tuilagi didn't expect that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Tuilagi pushes Guy off and gets back to his feet.
Guy doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tuilagi counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Guy has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Losefa Tuilagi!
