The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Joseph lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joseph creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Yaazzout sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Yaazzout struggling a bit here.
Joseph misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Joseph in side control, throwing shots but Yaazzout defends.
Joseph is looking to take a break and control but Yaazzout is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Joseph postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
