Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alan Shilt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Punch!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shilt throws a head kick that Punch semi-blocks.
Punch drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Punch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Punch tries to stand but Shilt is controlling from the bottom.
Punch throwing strikes but missing.
Punch throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Punch is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Punch working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Punch is stalling in the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Punch won't allow Shilt to get back to his feet.
Punch looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Shilt is looking to stand up but Punch isn't so interested in that idea.
Punch looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Punch wants to control from the top but Shilt keeps moving.

Punch is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shilt is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shilt has escaped and now he's on top!
Shilt wanted to stand there but Punch had control of the position.
Punch is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Punch is looking to take a break and control but Shilt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Punch is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Shilt taking some punishment here, with Punch in his half guard.
Shilt on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Punch wants to take a breather but Shilt is having none of it.
Punch sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Punch is nestled in close to Shilt, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Punch thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Shilt to regain full guard.
Punch scoring with punches to the head and body.
Punch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Punch makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Punch trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Shilt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Shilt has momentary wrist control but Punch slips an elbow through the middle.
Shilt is breathing heavily.
Punch cracks Shilt with a solid left hand.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Punch looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Punch prevents Shilt from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Punch dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Punch slips a straight right by Shilt.
Shilt will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Punch looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Shilt!
Punch scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Shilt?
BOOM! Punch connects with a massive shot to the dome!


It looks like Alan Shilt has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Punch is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Shilt to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Shilt shrugs it off.
Punch scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Shilt?
Punch in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Punch is landing with some decent strikes but Shilt is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Jeez, Alan Shilt's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Alan Shilt's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
