Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Duane Jackson!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Calzaghe!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Jackson misses its intended target.
Calzaghe moves away from the strike by Jackson.

Jackson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Calzaghe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Calzaghe is trying to buck Jackson off.

Calzaghe is not content to let Jackson control the position.
Jackson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Calzaghe works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Jackson is looking to take a break and control but Calzaghe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Jackson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jackson tries to pass to full mount but Calzaghe defends it.
Jackson prevents Calzaghe from standing back up.
Jackson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Jackson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Well, if Jackson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Jackson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Calzaghe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jackson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jackson lands with a punch from half guard.

Jackson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Calzaghe's head.
Jackson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Poor strikes thrown by Jackson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Jackson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Calzaghe's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Calzaghe is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Calzaghe wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Jackson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Calzaghe can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Calzaghe is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Calzaghe has left one of his arms exposed and Jackson doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Calzaghe screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:02 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Duane Jackson!
