Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller avoids the body shot from Anderson.
Anderson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Miller pinned against the cage. Miller gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Anderson wants to get back to full guard.
Anderson trying to control but Miller postures up.

Anderson is desperately trying to improve his position but Miller has a good base and remains in mount.

Anderson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Miller's guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Miller holds on and takes a little breather.

Miller throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Anderson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Miller counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Anderson's guard now.
Miller wanted to stand there but Anderson had control of the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miller drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jake Miller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anderson working for submissions but it's allowed Miller to get to half guard.
Anderson is trying to maintain the position but Miller is very close to passing his half guard.

Miller is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miller connects with a nice short shot to Anderson's temple.
Anderson is looking for a sweep. Miller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Miller controlling the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Miller lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Anderson tries to keep at a distance but Miller has taken the fight into the clinch.
Miller tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Miller pulls Anderson in close to prevent any damage.

Anderson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Miller is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jake Miller.

Miller throws a nice looking combination but Anderson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Anderson is fighting to break Miller's control of his arms but Miller is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Anderson wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.

Miller uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Miller has his takedown stuffed

and Anderson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Miller has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Anderson is trying to keep an underhook but Miller manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Miller works his way into side control.
You can see the frustration on Anderson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Well Miller has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
