Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sancho Paredes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wagner Fabiano!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paredes slaps away a takedown attempt from Fabiano, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Fabiano wants to clinch.
Fabiano looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.


It looks like Wagner Fabiano has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Paredes. Those never looked like landing.
Paredes lands a jab to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fabiano is looking to clinch but Paredes is avoiding it.
Nice takedown defense from Paredes. No joy for Fabiano on that attempt.

Fabiano shoots in but Paredes avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Sancho Paredes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wagner Fabiano.
Paredes looks to land a combination but Fabiano avoids it well.

Paredes lands a slapping body shot.
A jab from Paredes misses.
Paredes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fabiano looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Fabiano looks gassed!
Fabiano dives in and grabs Paredes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Paredes pushes down on Fabiano's head and hops out.
Fabiano takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Paredes steps into range and cracks Fabiano with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Fabiano flops backwards and Paredes dives into his guard looking to finish!

Paredes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Paredes seems to be working for a kimura but Fabiano defends the submission attempt.
Fabiano pushes Paredes off looking to stand but Paredes dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Paredes is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Paredes is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Paredes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Paredes lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Paredes cracks Fabiano with an open hand slap.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fabiano is looking to stand up but Paredes isn't so interested in that idea.
Fabiano seems to have recovered his senses.
Paredes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fabiano's head.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Sancho Paredes just wasn't active enough.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fabiano looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Paredes lands a jab to the nose.

Fabiano tries to score a power double leg takedown but Paredes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Fabiano somewhat.

Paredes misses with an uppercut.
Fabiano should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fabiano takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Fabiano is trying desperately to land a takedown but Paredes is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Fabiano.
Fabiano is breathing heavily.

Paredes lands a really nice looking cross but Fabiano seems unphased.

Paredes fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Fabiano to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Fabiano looks to clinch but Paredes throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Fabiano taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
