Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rob Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Borrum Someer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Borrum Someer struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 136.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Borrum Someer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rob Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Borrum Someer! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Someer scores with a head kick. Smith tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time. The fighters circle momentarily. Smith darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Smith gets tackled into the cage by Someer. Someer maintains the clinch. Someer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Smith's corner calls for a 1-2. Smith obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Someer moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Someer drives through and clinches with Smith against the cage.
Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Someer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith feints a jab promting Someer to slip. Smith then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Someer slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Smith connects with a crisp jab. Someer takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Someer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Smith lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Someer backs up against the cage.
The fight moves into the clinch position. A frustrated look appears on Smith's face as he tries to break the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Smith fails to land. Someer gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Someer gets to his feet. Smith looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Someer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Smith's guard. Someer must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Someer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Someer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Someer is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Smith is looking for a triangle but Someer pushes his legs off easily.

Smith is breathing heavily. Someer trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Smith keeping moving, preventing Someer from controlling successfully. Someer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smith swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Smith lands a nice shot that snaps Someer's head back.
Someer forces Smith back against the cage and clinches. Someer breaks from the clinch.
A shot to the body from Smith misses and Someer counters with a shoot takedown. Smith fights it but they end up in guard. Smith keeping moving, preventing Someer from controlling successfully. Someer postures up in Smith's guard and throws a big left but Smith blocks it. Someer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Smith is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Someer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Someer passes Smith's left leg - he's now in half guard. Someer seems to be looking for submissions.

Smith tries to roll over but Someer keeps him under control. Someer works his way into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Smith is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Someer looking to finish Smith with some ground and pound. This is bad for Smith! Someer is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Smith to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Smith shrugs it off. Someer trying to control but Smith is having none of it. Someer thowing shots but they're missing. Smith keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Borrum Someer dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Someer scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Someer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Smith sneaks back into half guard. Smith is looking for a sweep. Someer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Someer trying to control from half guard but Smith is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Someer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Smith is just riding it out for now. Someer eventually gives up the hold. Smith wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Smith is refusing to be controlled, as Someer sits in half guard. Someer is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Smith moves into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Someer won't allow Smith to get back to his feet. Someer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Smith works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Someer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Smith wants to stand but Someer is controlling the position. Someer sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smith's guard. Someer stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Smith to get to his feet. Smith connects with a jab. Someer shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Someer is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Someer slips a nice elbow through Smith's hands, connecting with Smith's forehead. Someer works his foot free and advances to mount. Someer looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Someer has control of Smith's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Smith regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Someer lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Smith hang on? Smith tries to lock up and control but Someer gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Smith can't escape the position.

Borrum Someer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Someer passes to full mount! Someer is looking to work his way around to Smith's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Someer is working for a guillotine from mount but Smith frees his head quite easily.
Someer is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Smith has managed to escape the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Smith is working to get back to half guard.
Smith bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Smith preventing the sweep. Someer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Someer prevents Smith from standing back up.

And that's the end of the fight! Borrum Someer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Someer has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
