Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shins Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cooper comes to the cage accompanied by Jay Z- Run This Town. Shins Steel will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aaron Cooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Shins Steel! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cooper drives through with a takedown into guard. Steel is trying to control the position but Cooper postures up. Cooper slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Cooper seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Steel for as long as he can get away with. Steel is trying to control the position but Cooper postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Steel tries for a takedown but Cooper circles away easily and Cooper counters with a straight punch to the midsection. That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Steel with a poor takedown and Cooper counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Steel looks gassed! Cooper slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Aaron Cooper wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Cooper throws the left hand but Steel avoids the punch easily. Steel fails with the takedown and Cooper counters with a nice double leg into side control. Steel won't be happy with that. Aaron Cooper has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shins Steel.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Steel seems a little lost for a moment, as Cooper dominates the positioning. Cooper has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Aaron Cooper just wasn't active enough. Steel keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Cooper loads up on a big right hand but Steel slips the punch. Cooper gets the takedown into side control. A lull in the action here as Cooper stalls from top position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cooper thuds a left hand into Steel's body. Steel gets tackled into the cage by Cooper. Cooper maintains the clinch. Cooper tightens his grip and picks Steel up, before dumping him to the ground. Steel manages to land in guard. Steel can't keep his opponent in guard - Cooper advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Cooper uses his free foot to push down on Steel's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Steel. Cooper looking to control and managing it successfully. Steel is breathing heavily.

Cooper closes the distance and clinches. Cooper has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Steel is trying to keep an underhook but Cooper manages to get the takedown into half guard. Cooper perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Cooper uses his free foot to push down on Steel's thigh. Cooper presses Steel against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Steel tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Nice body punch from Cooper. Cooper lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Steel. A quick uppercut on the inside from Cooper. A shot in the inside from Cooper. Cooper lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Cooper wants the takedown. Steel is fighting it off but Cooper persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Steel's guard against the cage. Cooper passes Steel's left leg - he's now in half guard. Cooper is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Steel! Cooper controlling the pace for now. Steel takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Cooper tries to land a knee to the head but Steel blocks with his arms.
Cooper gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Cooper controls from within his opponent's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Cooper showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cooper has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
