PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jon Slider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anus Saukko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Saukko has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Slider!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anus Saukko!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slider closes the distance and clinches up with Saukko, looking for a takedown. Slider pushes Saukko against the cage but Saukko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Saukko looks gassed!
Saukko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Slider circles away quickly and effectively.
Saukko misses with a jab, cross combination.

Slider closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Saukko quickly recovers to half guard.
Slider throwing shots but Saukko is blocking nicely.
Slider trying to control the action but Saukko is working from the bottom.
Slider slows the pace down in half guard.

Slider escapes and gets back to his feet.
Slider shoots in looking for a takedown. Saukko tries to sprawl out of it but Slider keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Saukko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Slider really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Slider decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Slider wants to get back to his feet.
Saukko is staying active underneath Slider, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Saukko can do anything to dispel that myth.
Slider wants to pass to mount but Saukko is defending the position.
Saukko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Slider. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Slider is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Saukko doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Slider.

Slider is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Saukko is just riding it out for now. Slider eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Saukko is trying to stand.
Slider is keen to just control but Saukko is a slippery customer.

Slider working over Saukko with some ground and pound. Saukko looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Slider is trying for a kimura here. Saukko looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Slider wins by kimura!
