Sanders's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, British National Anthem. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Sanders misses the shot to the body.
Sanders throws a solid leg kick but Diggler takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sanders.
Sanders fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diggler manages to avoid it.
Sanders misses with a body shot.
Diggler steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sanders.
Sanders is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diggler.
Diggler checks a low kick from Sanders.
Sanders looks to score with a jab to the body but Diggler is just out of range.
Sanders connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
It looks like Dirk Diggler has been cut.
Sanders lands a left and a right that send Diggler crashing to the mat, dazed. Sanders thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanders throws a body punch but Diggler moves out of range.
Diggler misses with a jab to the body
and Sanders scores with a counter punch that sends Diggler to the canvas! Sanders smells blood - he's punishing Diggler with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Diggler has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sammy Sanders!
