Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Falcao Chuteboxe!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chuteboxe fails with a takedown attempt.
Alves stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alves wants it to stay on the feet.

Chuteboxe doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Alves counters with a takedown into side control.
Chuteboxe tries to improve position but can't.
Alves just content to control the position.

Chuteboxe is looking to regain half guard here but Alves keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Alves remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That's time! Alves's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Alves throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Chuteboxe tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Alves is in Chuteboxe's guard.
Alves seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Chuteboxe throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alves escapes and throws Chuteboxe's legs to the side, diving into side control!
