Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sim Heer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Augustus Aurelius!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heer moves into the clinch.
Aurelius tries for a takedown. No joy.
Aurelius tries to score a body lock takedown but Heer shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Heer lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Heer.
Aurelius is trying to drag Heer to the mat but Heer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Sim Heer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Augustus Aurelius.
Aurelius drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Aurelius wants a takedown.
Heer scores with a nice hook to the head.
Heer stops a takedown attempt from Aurelius.
Aurelius tries for a takedown. No joy.
Aurelius throws an elbow that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Aurelius drops down looking for an ankle pick but Heer pulls his leg out and moves away.
Aurelius closes the distance and clinches up with Heer, looking for a takedown. Aurelius pushes Heer against the cage but Heer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Heer fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Aurelius has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Heer's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Heer duly obliges.
It looks like Augustus Aurelius has been cut.
Aurelius looks gassed!
Heer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Aurelius.
Aurelius shoots in looking for a takedown. Heer tries to sprawl out of it but Aurelius keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Heer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Aurelius chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Heer can pounce on him.
Heer drops Aurelius with a huge uppercut! Aurelius drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Heer is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sim Heer!
Sim Heer retains his lightweight title!
