Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martin O Neill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Castilano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). O Neill comes to the cage accompanied by Sing for the moment - Eminem. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Martin O Neill! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Castilano! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by O Neill. Castilano drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Castilano moves into full mount! Castilano trying to control but he's not successful this time. Castilano goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now O Neill is on top in guard.
Castilano looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
O Neill working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. O Neill missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! O Neill trying to control but Castilano is working from the bottom. Castilano escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. O Neill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Castilano is trying to keep O Neill in close.

That's one minute gone in the round. Castilano is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
O Neill landing some decent shots from guard. O Neill wants to pass the guard but Castilano is keeping the position. O Neill lands a couple of elbows. Castilano looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Castilano is trying to control the position but O Neill postures up. Castilano has momentary wrist control but O Neill slips an elbow through the middle. O Neill wants to pass the guard but Castilano is keeping the position. O Neill throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Castilano keeping full guard, as O Neill tries to pass. Castilano tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Neill looking to pass the guard. Castilano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Castilano has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but O Neill can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. O Neill pushes down on Castilano's leg and manages to get into half guard. O Neill is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Castilano! O Neill prevents Castilano from getting the reversal. Castilano is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. O Neill fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
It looks like Luke Castilano has been cut. O Neill scoring with strikes but Castilano is staying in there. O Neill scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Castilano?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Castilano tries to get back to half guard but can't. A nice elbow there by O Neill. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, O Neill cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Castilano is rocked!
That has opened up Luke Castilano's cut even more. Castilano can't escape the position.
Castilano looks gassed!
That's three minutes gone in the round. BOOM! O Neill connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Castilano is still in real trouble! Can O Neill finish him? Castilano keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
O Neill postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Castilano in real trouble here! The ref calls for Castilano to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Martin O Neill! Martin O Neill retains his welterweight title!
