Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Bader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryan Bader!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bader fails with a takedown attempt.
Ryan Bader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Liddell pivots, looking for a leg kick but Bader is out of range and Liddell settles back down.
Bader tries for a takedown but Liddell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Liddell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bader.
Liddell is looking to reverse the position.

Bader is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Liddell has escaped the position, nice work there.
Liddell tries to bench press Bader off him but Bader keeps the position.

Bader working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Liddell is looking for a sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bader is trying to get an arm triangle but Liddell is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Liddell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bader wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Liddell, who protects the arm well.
Liddell is looking to reverse the position.

Bader is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Liddell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Liddell sneaks back into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Liddell is trying to get back to full guard.

Bader is working for a submission of some sort.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bader is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Liddell to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Liddell is adopting a defensive guard.

Liddell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Bader off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bader has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Liddell.
Liddell throws a lazy right hand but Bader sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Liddell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bader looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Liddell is breathing heavily.
Bader is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Bader should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Liddell fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Bader is trying to get back to half guard.
Bader is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Liddell stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Bader closes the distance but Liddell moves to the side
and Liddell counters with a two punch combo.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bader doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Liddell counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Bader.
Liddell stays in close to Bader's body and controls the position.

Bader is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Liddell defends well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bader looking for a sweep. Not yet Bader, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Liddell dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Bader gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Liddell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bader!
Bader is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bader bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Bader advances position into side control!
You can see the frustration on Liddell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Bader goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Liddell has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Bader but great work by Liddell.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bader is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Liddell's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Bader looking for submissions off his back.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bader is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Liddell's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Liddell's back!
Liddell wants to control his opponent's hands but Bader gets his hands free.

Liddell is trying to defend against the choke here but Bader has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Bader Tightens the hold and Liddell taps out furiously! Bader displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ryan Bader!
