I think Mir might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nas - Hate Me Now. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Francisco Mir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bob Parker!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker throws a shot from downtown. Mir moves away and avoids it.
Nice takedown defense from Parker. No joy for Mir on that attempt.
Parker thuds his right hand into Mir's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Parker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Parker throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mirs head.
Mir is looking to break free of the clinch but Parker has double underhooks.
Parker tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mir has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Parker avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Parker slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Parker is in close to Mir's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Parker stays in close to Mir's body and controls the position.
Parker postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Parker won't allow Mir to sweep him here.
Parker keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mir's head.

Parker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mir with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Mir is looking to improve his position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Parker lands a nice short elbow.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parker connects with a nice short shot to Mir's temple.
Parker is controlling the pace.
Parker is keen to just control but Mir is a slippery customer.
Parker lands strikes from half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Mir is pressing down on Parker's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Mir is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Parker is aware though and is defending well.

Parker throws a strike but Mir rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Parker has his hands on Mir's head, controlling the position.
Parker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Parker connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Parker lands a nice shot to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A nice elbow there by Parker.
The referee warns Mir that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
A big strike lands for Parker! That's really hurt Mir and he's turned his back - Parker keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Parker jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Parker!
