The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Usurpator shoots in and bounces Chielanno off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Chielanno bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Usurpator's guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Chielanno postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chielanno accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Usurpator is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Chielanno wants to control from the top but Usurpator keeps moving.
Usurpator has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Chielanno throws a head kick but Usurpator moves out of range.

Chielanno closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Usurpator takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Usurpator avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Chielanno.
Usurpator is looking to reverse the position.
Usurpator on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Usurpator tries to get out of the position.

Usurpator fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chielanno sprawls well initially but Usurpator persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Chielanno shoots and misses

Usurpator decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Chielanno is looking to control Usurpator's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Chielanno avoid being mounted?
Usurpator knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chielanno on the ground.
Chielanno wants to improve his position but Usurpator is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Usurpator shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
