Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between BJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Seletzsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Penn comes to the ring accompanied by BJ Penn. Seletzsky comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Viva Colonia! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Alexander Seletzsky acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Seletzsky swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Penn misses with a looping left. Penn throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Seletzsky tries to clinch but fails miserably letting Penn counter with a right hand. Seletzsky misses with a hook
and Penn counters with a nice uppercut. Seletzsky misses with a hook to the body
and Penn counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Penn tries to score a power double leg takedown but Seletzsky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Penn somewhat. Penn takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Seletzsky swings widly with a right hand
and Seletzsky takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Seletzsky tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Penn throws a body punch but Seletzsky moves out of range.

and Seletzsky counters with a stiff right hand. No luck with that takedown attempt from Penn. Seletzsky tries to score a power double leg takedown but Penn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Seletzsky somewhat. Seletzsky swings widly with a right hand

and Penn counters with a takedown into side control. Seletzsky tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Penn easily slips into full mount! Seletzsky is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Seletzsky wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Seletzsky trying to control the hands but Penn breaks the grip. Seletzsky tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Penn has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Seletzsky's face.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Penn lands a nice shot to the head. Seletzsky wants to control but Penn is having none of it. Penn is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Seletzsky has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Seletzsky is rocked! Penn tries to control but Seletzsky wriggling away. Seletzsky is still in real trouble! Can Penn finish him?

Seletzsky seems to have recovered his senses. Seletzsky tries to hold on but Penn postures up. Penn landing strikes from the mount. Penn raining down hammerfists from mount. Seletzsky sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Penn lands with a punch from half guard. Penn is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Penn looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Penn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Seletzsky is just riding it out for now. Penn eventually gives up the hold. Seletzsky is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Penn pulls his head out easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Penn prevents Seletzsky from improving his position. Seletzsky trying to hold on to Penn's head to control him but Penn postures up.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Penn in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Penn pushing down on Seletzsky's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Penn counters with a straight right hand. Nice cross by Penn. Penn is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Seletzsky misses with an uppercut
and Penn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Penn stuffs the takedown. Seletzsky throws a sloppy body shot
and Penn counters with a straight right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Penn is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Penn moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Penn throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Seletzsky tries to clinch up and Penn counters with a nice uppercut. Seletzsky misses with a double jab
letting Penn counter with a right hand. Seletzsky swings widly with a right hand
and Penn counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Penn connects with a solid leg kick. Penn gets the takedown into side control. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Seletzsky is looking to reverse the position. Penn taking a breather here. Seletzsky wants to control but Penn postures up. Penn lands a nice forearm strike. Seletzsky is looking for a sweep. Penn wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Seletzsky, who protects the arm well. Penn in side control lands a decent elbow. You can see the frustration on Seletzsky's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Penn wants to control but Seletzsky is keeping him busy. Seletzsky is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Penn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Penn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Penn is looking to take a break and control but Seletzsky is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Seletzsky tries to control but Penn manages to take his back. Penn softening up his opponent with strikes here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Seletzsky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Seletzsky pushes down on Penn's leg and manages to get into half guard. Seletzsky is taking a breather. Penn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Seletzsky wants to advance to full mount but Penn doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Penn manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Seletzsky manages to get himself to full guard.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Penn is trying to control. Seletzsky wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Seletzsky controlling the position well. Seletzsky wants to get back to full guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Penn lands a nice short elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Seletzsky tries to roll over but Penn keeps him under control. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. The fighters are battling for position here. Seletzsky manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Seletzsky takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Seletzsky is trying to keep Penn in close.
Penn wants to control from the top but Seletzsky keeps moving. Penn loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Seletzsky is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Seletzsky is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Penn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Penn is looking to advance position but Seletzsky won't allow it. Penn lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Seletzsky won't allow Penn to pass to mount. Seletzsky is staying active underneath Penn, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Seletzsky has a hand on Penn's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Penn takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Seletzsky tries to hold on but Penn postures up. BJ Penn is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Penn working for a guillotine from mount but Seletzsky is in no mood to give up. Penn unloading with bombs!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Seletzsky is looking to improve his position but Penn isn't that keen on the idea. Penn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. A nice elbow there by Penn. Seletzsky throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Penn lands a nice shot to the head. Seletzsky manages to regain half guard. Good work. Seletzsky has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Penn is working away from the top position though. Seletzsky is looking to improve his position.
