PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Krun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krun has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo Krun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Krun scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Hughes is desperately trying to improve his position but Krun has a good base and remains in mount.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gustavo Krun will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gustavo Krun.
Krun goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Hughes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Krun sprawls well. Krun wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hughes gets slowly back to his feet.
Krun fails with an attempt to clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Krun misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Matt Hughes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hughes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
