The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akiyama tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Dmitrigorbachovovonovich counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Dmitrigorbachovovonovich wants to pass the guard but Akiyama is keeping the position. Akiyama being controlled here, momentarily. Dmitrigorbachovovonovich tries to free his leg and advance position but Akiyama is retaining full guard.

Dmitrigorbachovovonovich takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
