The key to victory for Cam Pederson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pederson tries to clinch but st piere moves away
and st piere counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pederson misses with a double jab
and st piere counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
st piere looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Pederson is breathing heavily.
Pederson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pederson.
st piere must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. George st piere wasn't active enough on the ground.
st piere feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

st piere sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pederson's guard.

st piere is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

st piere is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Pederson is staying active underneath st piere, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

st piere is keen to just control but Pederson is a slippery customer.

st piere is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Pederson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. st piere is looking to defend but Pederson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for st piere! Pederson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, st piere taps out and this one is all over!
