Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ian Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Marvin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marvin is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: King of Kings by Motorhead. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as King Marvin enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ian Brown!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, King Marvin!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marvin misses with a jab, cross combination.
Brown throws a lazy uppercut
and Marvin counters with a stiff right hand.
King Marvin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Marvin tries to close the distance and clinch but Brown swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marvin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Marvin rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brown counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Brown takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Marvin wants to clinch up but Brown keeps it at a distance.
Brown ducks under a wild hook from Marvin.
Marvin throws a right hand that misses
letting Brown counter with a right hand.
Brown throws out a loose jab but Marvin uses good head movement to avoid it.
Brown throws a jab but it's blocked by Marvin.
Marvin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Marvin misses with an uppercut
and Brown counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Marvin thinking.
Marvin ducks under a wild hook from Brown.
Brown walks into a straight right hand from Marvin.

Marvin closes the distance and clinches.

Marvin keeps control of Brown as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Marvin gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Brown regains guard.
Brown utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Marvin works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Marvin is trying to control the action in half guard but Brown is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Marvin stops Brown from getting back to his feet.
Brown is staying active underneath Marvin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Marvin thows a huge punch but Brown dodges it nicely.
Brown is looking to escape.

Marvin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brown does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Marvin with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Brown to score with a decent uppercut.

and Marvin counters with a nice body shot.

and Brown counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Marvin thinking.

Brown needs to keep his hands up - Marvin had a free shot at his head there.

Marvin tries to bum rush Brown with a series of wild strikes but Brown uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Marvin dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Marvin. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Marvin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Marvin off to one side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Marvin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Marvin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brown as he avoids it easily.

and Marvin makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Marvin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brown sprawls well initially but Marvin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Marvin wants to work for an arm triangle but Brown is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Brown is trying to escape back to his feet but Marvin uses the scramble to pass into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Check out the look on Marvin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Marvin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marvin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Marvin maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Brown could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Marvin has cracked it and Brown is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Marvin!
