Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Willy Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Azato Yasutsune!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yasutsune connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Wallace checks the leg kick nicely there.
Wallace lands with a shot to the body.
Wallace throws a shot to the body.
Yasutsune throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Wallace getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Yasutsune tries to clinch but Wallace is having none of it.
Yasutsune feints and then cracks Wallace's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wallace down.

Yasutsune takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Donk. Wallace catches Yasutsune right on the button with a cross.
Wallace connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Yasutsune does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Wallace fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Yasutsune throws out a powerful jab.
Wallace shoots in and bounces Yasutsune off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Wallace seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Yasutsune holds on and takes a little breather.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Azato Yasutsune.

Wallace checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Willy Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yasutsune throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wallace throws out a loose jab but Yasutsune uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wallace shoots in but no luck this time.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Wallace is breathing heavily.
Yasutsune tries to hold on but Wallace postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Yasutsune is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Wallace is staying active.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Azato Yasutsune dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Wallace rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Yasutsune throws a leg kick which misses Wallace's front leg but catches the back leg as Wallace tries to avoid it.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Azato Yasutsune showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yasutsune can do anything to dispel that myth.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yasutsune manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Azato Yasutsune is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
