PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuluun Sukhbaatar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elspeth Tiriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sukhbaatar comes to the cage accompanied by Mongol Battle. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Elspeth Tiriel enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chuluun Sukhbaatar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elspeth Tiriel!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiriel doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Sukhbaatar cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Sukhbaatar connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Tiriel is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Sukhbaatar.

and Sukhbaatar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Chuluun Sukhbaatar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elspeth Tiriel.

Tiriel has Sukhbaatar pressed against the cage, preventing Sukhbaatar from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sukhbaatar has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Tiriel drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sukhbaatar gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Tiriel.
Sukhbaatar can't break the clinch.
Tiriel has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sukhbaatar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sukhbaatar tries to break the clinch but Tiriel is controlling the position.

Sukhbaatar goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Tiriel tries for a takedown but Sukhbaatar circles away easily
and Sukhbaatar counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tiriel looks gassed!
Tiriel takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Tiriel has his takedown stuffed

and Sukhbaatar holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Sukhbaatar wants to get back to striking at distance but Tiriel won't allow it.
Tiriel goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sukhbaatar prevents it.
Tiriel is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Tiriel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sukhbaatar fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sukhbaatar moves into the clinch.

Sukhbaatar misses with a knee strike.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Sukhbaatar takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

and Sukhbaatar counters by moving into the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tiriel jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sukhbaatar walks away with a smile on his face. Tiriel gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Sukhbaatar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sukhbaatar lands an uppercut.
Tiriel has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Sukhbaatar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sukhbaatar stalling.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Sukhbaatar for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Sukhbaatar pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Sukhbaatar closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Sukhbaatar is looking to break free of the clinch but Tiriel has double underhooks.
A body shot lands from Sukhbaatar.

Sukhbaatar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Sukhbaatar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tiriel's guard.
Sukhbaatar engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Tiriel uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Tiriel misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Sukhbaatar moves into the clinch.
Sukhbaatar throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tiriel blocks it with crossed arms.
Sukhbaatar slowing the pace effectively.
Sukhbaatar tries to break the clinch but Tiriel is controlling the position.
Sukhbaatar is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Sukhbaatar really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Tiriel goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sukhbaatar prevents it.
Sukhbaatar is pressed up against the cage. Tiriel has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sukhbaatar down to the mat. Sukhbaatar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
A left and a right from Sukhbaatar both land. Nice combination.
Sukhbaatar displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tiriel.

and Sukhbaatar counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Tiriel looks to clinch
and Sukhbaatar counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

letting Sukhbaatar counter with a right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuluun Sukhbaatar dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Tiriel scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Tiriel has isolated one of Sukhbaatar's arms. Sukhbaatar looking to fight him off but Tiriel twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
