0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ilia Kosarev! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kosarev tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Dabrowski counters with a nice uppercut. Dabrowski gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Dabrowski keeps the fight on the outside. Dabrowski tests Kosarev's chin there with a solid looking shot. Kosarev throws a right and a left that Dabrowski avoids nicely. Dabrowski rushes Kosarev and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kosarev tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Kosarev jumps guard and drags Dabrowski to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dabrowski trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Dabrowski preventing the sweep. Dabrowski controls from within his opponent's guard. Dabrowski seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kosarev for as long as he can get away with. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Dabrowski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Kosarev tries to roll over but Dabrowski keeps him under control. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dabrowski in particular looking to stall. Dabrowski prevents Kosarev from standing back up.
Dabrowski takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kosarev is looking to improve his position.
Kosarev is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Dabrowski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kosarev is trying to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kosarev pushes Dabrowski off and gets back to his feet. Kosarev looks gassed! Dabrowski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Dabrowski controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Kosarev keeping full guard, as Dabrowski tries to pass. Dabrowski is working hard here to advance position. Kosarev looking to sweep here. Kosarev is looking to score with low kicks. Dabrowski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. You can see the frustration on Kosarev's face as Dabrowski controls the position. Dabrowski blocks the strikes from Kosarev.
Kosarev tries to improve position but can't. Kosarev is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Kosarev is breathing heavily. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dabrowski connects with a nice short shot to Kosarev's temple. Dabrowski controlling the action here. Dabrowski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dabrowski is looking to advance position but Kosarev won't allow it. Kosarev tries to kick Dabrowski off but Dabrowski keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Dabrowski controlling the action here. Kosarev is looking to escape.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Rafal Dabrowski just wasn't active enough. Nice takedown defense from Kosarev. No joy for Dabrowski on that attempt. Dabrowski lands with an uppercut that bounces Kosarev off the cage and back into rage. Dabrowski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kosarev circles away quickly and effectively.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dabrowski throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kosarev scores with a nice strike. Kosarev tries a head kick but it misses.
Dabrowski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kosarev as he avoids it easily. The fight stays on the outside here - Dabrowski looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kosarev takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Kosarev displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dabrowski. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rafal Dabrowski. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kosarev lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Kosarev lands a nice shot to the body.
Dabrowski closes the distance and clinches. Dabrowski drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Kosarev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dabrowski manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Dabrowski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kosarev as he jumps to the side. Kosarev connects with a crisp jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dabrowski drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Kosarev looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Dabrowski fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kosarev sprawls well initially but Dabrowski persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Kosarev gets back to full guard.

Kosarev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Dabrowski fails in his attempt to clinch. Dabrowski shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kosarev is trying to defend but Dabrowski finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Rafal Dabrowski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kosarev is looking to improve his position but Dabrowski isn't that keen on the idea. BOOM! Dabrowski connects with a massive shot to the dome!
