Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Natan Neron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Standa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neron throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Standa tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Neron is in Standa's guard.
Standa looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Neron is pushing down on Standa's leg trying to pass to half guard. Standa is fighting to maintain full guard but Neron has managed to sneak the leg through.
Standa is trying to maintain the position but Neron is very close to passing his half guard.
Neron content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Neron is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Standa!

Neron is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Standa has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Standa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Neron. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Natan Neron wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Neron changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Standa looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Neron seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Standa for as long as he can get away with.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Natan Neron has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Neron.

Neron lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Standa down.

Neron stalls.

Standa is fighting off a takedown attempt but Neron is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Standa to the mat. Standa regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Standa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Neron controls the pace.
Neron slips nicely into half guard.
Neron works his foot free and advances to mount.
Neron content just to control the position here.
Standa is breathing heavily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Natan Neron just wasn't active enough.

Neron scores a takedown into full mount!
Neron looking to control and managing it successfully.
Neron's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Standa is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Neron has taken his back.
What can Standa do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Neron has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Standa is in real trouble here. Neron gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Standa is tapping out! Neron wins by rear naked choke!
