The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berry throws a hook to the side of Nom Nom's head but Nom Nom sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Berry throws a leg kick but Nom Nom sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Nom Nom takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

and Nom Nom counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Nom Nom is controlling an arm, preventing Berry from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Berry can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nom Nom is looking to escape.

Berry lands a big shot there that rocks Nom Nom but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Berry is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nom Nom has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Nom Nom has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Berry's lack of action.

Berry is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nom Nom can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Berry wants to finish this one by submission but Nom Nom is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Berry.

Berry swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nom Nom is now in Berry's guard. A big mistake from Berry there, giving up the dominant position!
Berry is striking off his back. Nom Nom thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Nom Nom has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Berry.
Nom Nom lands with a shot to the body.
Donk. Nom Nom catches Berry right on the button with a cross.

enabling Berry to counter with a crisp jab.

and Berry counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Om Nom Nom has been cut.
Nom Nom swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Berry cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Berry throws a sloppy head kick and Nom Nom moves out of range easily.

and Berry counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Berry throws a low kick but Nom Nom moves out of range easily.

and Berry counters with a nice low kick that buckles Nom Nom's knee momentarily.

and Berry counters with a single leg into guard. Nom Nom didn't expect that.

Berry pushing down on Nom Nom's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Berry passes the guard and advances to mount!
Nom Nom is squirming around, avoiding Berry's attempts to control the action.
Berry seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Nom Nom is holding on tight.
Berry forces the positional change into back control.
Nom Nom preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Berry.
Berry working for a choke but Nom Nom is defending well.
Well, with Berry on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Nom Nom is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Berry working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Berry is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Nom Nom has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Berry has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Nom Nom taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Berry doesn't care though - he's delighted!
