Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vernon Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). wa Za Banga's entrance music is Hell March. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner fails with a takedown attempt. Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Turner lands a slapping body shot.
wa Za Banga tries to score with a low kick but Turner moves his leg out of the way. An inside leg kick from wa Za Banga misses. Turner lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Turner takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. wa Za Banga throws a left and a right that both miss
and Turner counters with a nice double leg into side control. wa Za Banga won't be happy with that. wa Za Banga is looking for a sweep. wa Za Banga struggling a bit here. Turner wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by wa Za Banga, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. wa Za Banga is not content to let Turner control the position. Turner scores with punches from side control. Turner controlling the position from side mount. wa Za Banga really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Turner postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
wa Za Banga pushes Turner away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Turner gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. wa Za Banga is trying to control Turner's posture but Turner avoids it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Turner trying to control the position but wa Za Banga is working away. Turner taking a break here but wa Za Banga is having none of it and regains half guard. Turner prevents wa Za Banga from improving his position. Turner keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Let's hope that Turner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. wa Za Banga wants to improve his position but Turner is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed wa Za Banga's head. Turner trying to mount his opponent but wa Za Banga defends it. wa Za Banga is looking for a sweep. Turner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. wa Za Banga keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Turner missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Turner scoring with strikes to the body and head. Turner controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Turner wants to take a breather but wa Za Banga is having none of it. wa Za Banga wants to get back to full guard but Turner has passed into side control. Turner throwing strikes here but wa Za Banga is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Turner scoring with strikes but wa Za Banga is staying in there. Turner landing shots from mount. wa Za Banga blocking the ground and pound. Turner throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for wa Za Banga because Turner loaded up on that one. Turner punishing his opponent with strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vernon Turner dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Turner takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. wa Za Banga throws a head kick that misses. Turner fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Turner tries to clinch but wa Za Banga is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. wa Za Banga tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Turner is able to avoid easily. Turner closes the distance and clinches. Turner keeps control of wa Za Banga as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Turner tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. wa Za Banga wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's one minute gone in the round. A quick uppercut on the inside from Turner. wa Za Banga is pressed up against the cage. Turner has hold of a leg and is looking to drag wa Za Banga down to the mat. wa Za Banga avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vernon Turner. Nice body kick there by wa Za Banga. Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Turner throws a poor cross that misses
and wa Za Banga counters with a nice leg kick. Turner tries to clinch up. Turner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Turner shoots in and gets a takedown into wa Za Banga's guard. Turner is looking to advance position but wa Za Banga has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! wa Za Banga content just to control the position here. Turner is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Turner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. wa Za Banga will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Turner is trying desperately to improve position. wa Za Banga controlling from the full mount. Turner tries to hold on but wa Za Banga pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. wa Za Banga trying to control but he's not successful this time. Turner tries to reverse the position but wa Za Banga maintains control. wa Za Banga controlling from mount. Turner gets back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

A punch combination from wa Za Banga misses. Turner lands with a good body shot. Turner is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down wa Za Banga rather than just go for the knockout.

Turner misses with a looping left. wa Za Banga misses with a hook. Turner uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before wa Za Banga has time to react. Turner throws a hook but wa Za Banga blocks it. wa Za Banga fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Turner checks it well. Turner misses with a body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Turner. wa Za Banga misses with a low kick. Turner lands a nice shot to the body.
Turner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but wa Za Banga paws at him with a jab and circles away. wa Za Banga defending well as Turner loads up on a big left hand. wa Za Banga throws a leg kick which misses Turner's front leg but catches the back leg as Turner tries to avoid it. Turner blocks a low kick nicely. wa Za Banga missing with a left hand there. Turner was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. wa Za Banga walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Turner checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. wa Za Banga displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Turner. Turner shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as wa Za Banga sprawls well. wa Za Banga wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Turner gets slowly back to his feet. Nkuku Ngbendu wa Za Banga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vernon Turner. Nice sprawl there from wa Za Banga as Turner shoots in. wa Za Banga throws out a loose jab but Turner uses good head movement to avoid it. wa Za Banga walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. wa Za Banga tries a low kick but Turner avoids it. wa Za Banga avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. wa Za Banga avoids the body shot from Turner.
Turner misses with a body punch

Turner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with wa Za Banga but wa Za Banga pushes him off and we're back to square one. wa Za Banga throws a shot from downtown. Turner moves away and avoids it. Turner fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. wa Za Banga finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. wa Za Banga throws a solid leg kick but Turner takes the impact on his shin and smiles at wa Za Banga. wa Za Banga tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Vernon Turner. I think Turner has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
